The Mummy Cave Ruins were built by the Ancestral Puebloans in Canyon del Muerto. The ruins are located on a promontory in the middle of the cliff face, and with over 80 rooms and 3 kivas, it’s one of the largest settlements in the canyon. The ruins are named after two mummies that were discoverd by an archaelogical expedition in 1882. This is the view from the ground floor of the canyon, where it dead ends at this site.
