Ever since childhood, I have had an interest in the West. I grew up watching Rin Tin Tin, Hop Along Cassidy, and many other westerns like Bonanza. Virginia City, Nevada was one of the first places I visited after Lake Tahoe, on my first excursion West from my home in New York City. This was the Comestock Mother Lode that started the Gold Rush and was responsible for building San Francisco. Trains of people and Ore from the many mines went in and out on a daily basis. Many mansions, mines and some of the original town and store fronts remain. I was captivated in capturing this scene for future generations to witness the fortitude and ingenuity that shaped our present lives.
