Lou DeSerio found it was a great advantage to live in an area of photographic interest. Living in Sedona since 1980, he has been truly privileged. On this day, the summer monsoon storm lingered over the eastern part of town, and the sun to the west broke through creating this striking contrast and double rainbow. He could see the event from his living room and knew exactly where to drive to get a view with no distractions. He quickly set up his Linhof 4×5″ camera, focused, composed and got the shot before the rainbow retreated. However, Deserio recalls that, “After I got my shot and went home, the rainbow continued for what must have been close to 45 minutes. The longest and most brilliant I have ever seen in my lifetime.”
