The Call of The Canyon trailhead is located aprox 10 miles north of Sedona on Hwy 89a to Flagstaff. The hike, in this side canyon of Oak Creek, has grown to be one of the most popular hikes in the entire Red Rock Canyon area. From beginning to end is aprox 16 miles and most hikers never go more than aprox 3 miles; as the trail does get tougher as you ascend from the bottom of Oak Creek Canyon to the top. The Westfork of Oak Creek is spring fed and runs through the canyon all year round. The canyon meanders its way through Red Rock and heavy foliage that provides views and experiences that are truly unique. In this early part of the trail, you feel like you are in Zion National Park. The vistas just never stop being amazing and serene at the same time.
