This view was captured during the summer monsoon season, which is typically July and August in Sedona, Arizona. A quick summer rainstorm had just passed through this area, and as the sun began to peak through, every blade of grass and tree leaf glistened from the recent drenching. Lou DeSerio lived only a short distance from Cathedral Rock and kept a steady watch during this season to catch a rare moment when the landscape is clean and bright and free of dust or mist.
