Lou DeSerio - is now offering private full photography workshops in Sedona for all levels of interest. After more than 25 years of group workshop tutoring, DeSerio has determined that the most effective and beneficial method of advancing understanding of the true art of photography is one on one assistance.
In these special photography workshops, participants will have DeSerio's undivided attention and be able to acquire the learning and skill for their personal desires with private interaction and feedback.
For each workshop DeSerio will shape the agenda and curriculum to the person's needs! The pace is determined by the individual and there is complete freedom on the part of students to inquire about areas that are uniquely personal and needed for their own understanding and mastering of various concepts they want to explore.
A full or half day can be reserved or several days may be reserved to allow the broadest agendas possible; from basic camera operation to the most advanced printing procedures. DeSerio can assist those interested in Black and White as well as Color in both traditional photography as well as all aspects of digital imaging, including:

BASICS OF DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY- Whether you recently acquired a camera or have owned one for years, this workshop will empower you to understand the many knobs and buttons that exist. This workshop is designed like "hands on" user manual. Yo will acquire knowledge of all the main features of your camera system with an emphasis on:
Aperture Control, Shutter Speed, Focusing and simple composition.
INTERMEDIATE PHOTOGRAPHY Workshop - Digital photography can be intimidating even to well versed phtograpers. This workshop will assist in your understanding the vaious controls that today's camera offer to capture moments of reward for the maker and the viewer. In this special on-on-one arrangement, students have undivided attention and are able to address thier specfic equipment at a pace they can absorb. This worksop covers a broad spectrum of concepts and insights and includes:
Advanced Creative Photographic Skills, Improving Compositions, Manual Control over camera settings for creativie adusments and personal critiique.
Rates are based on a 4 or 8 hour day. Times can vary throughout the season to take advantage of lighting. Participants can request an application form and submit it with a $150 non-refundable deposit or click below and register online.
PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPOSITION - In this workshop, Lou DeSerio will take participants on a journey of visual exploration and reveal how various elements of composition come together to put impact and success into the creation of a photograph. Since every photograph begins with an idea, this workshop will help the student in the execution of visual ideas with their camera.
Lou will work with each student in understanding the visual elements of space, lines, shadows, light, colors, contrasts, etc that make a picture of enduring quality. He will explain how the eye and mind embrace certain compositions and reject others; what visual characteristics entertain and give meaning to the viewer so that even the most common subject matter can be rendered in the most interesting ways.
The art of photography requires an understanding of the mechanics of the camera as the first step. Participants in this workshop should know the basics of exposure, iso, white balance, focus, etc, and have a general comfort with their equipment as this workshop will focus on the art of seeing images and creating striking compositions that communicate effective
